چکیده
KN) name -(1940). We should like to express our gratitude to the CERN Track Chamber Division, and specially to Professor Ch. Peyrou, Dr. R. Armenteros, and Dr. D. E. Plane, for supplying the film and the beam. This work would not have been possible without the encouragement and advices of Dr. R. Barloutaud, and one of us (J.G. ) would like to thank Professor A, Berthelot and Dr. A. Leveque for their generous support at the Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Saclay where part of this work has been done.

CMB Signals of Neutrino Mass Generation
We propose signals in the cosmic microwave background to probe the type and spectrum of neutrino masses. In theories that have spontaneous breaking of approximate lepton flavor symmetries at or below the weak scale, light pseudo-Goldstone bosons recouple to the cosmic neutrinos after nucleosynthesis and affect the acoustic oscillations of the electron-photon fluid during the eV era. Deviations ...
متن کاملImplications of dynamical symmetry breaking
An analysis is presented of the physical implications of theories in which the masses of the intermediate vector bosons arise from a dynamical symmetry breaking. In the absence of elementary spin-zero fields or bare fermion masses, such theories are necessarily invariant to zeroth order in the weak and electromagnetic gauge interactions under a global U(N) 8U(N) symmetry, where N is the number ...
متن کاملGoldstone Bosons in the Appelquist-Terning ETC Model
It is demonstrated that the extended technicolor model proposed recently by Appelquist and Terning has pair of potentially light U(1) Goldstone bosons coupling to ordinary matter with strength 2mf Fπ , where mf is the mass of the fermion and Fπ ≈ 125GeV. These Goldstone bosons could get a mass if the spontaneously broken U(1) symmetries are also explicitly broken, by physics beyond that specifi...
متن کاملAxions and Other Very Light Bosons
In this section we list limits for very light neutral (pseudo) scalar bosons that couple weakly to stable matter. They arise if there is a global continuous symmetry in the theory that is spontaneously broken in the vacuum. If the symmetry is exact, it results in a massless Nambu–Goldstone (NG) boson. If there is a small explicit breaking of the symmetry, either already in the Lagrangian or due...
متن کاملA Coupling of Pseudo Nambu Goldstone Bosons to Other Scalars and Role in Double Field Inflation
We find a coupling of Pseudo Nambu Goldstone bosons (PNGBs) to other (ordinary) scalars, and consider its importance in various contexts. Our original motivation was the model of Double Field inflation [1]. We also briefly consider the role of this coupling for the case of the QCD axion. PACS Numbers: 14.80.Mz, and 98.80.-k,Cq.
